Caistor Arts and Heritage Centre
The Project

The project was born from a desire to bring an attractive redundant building, Westgate Chapel in Plough Hill in to a good state of repair and full use for the benefit of visitors and the wider Caistor community.
There was a need for a heritage centre such as this to house numerous artefacts and to tell the fascinating story about the history of Caistor and its inhabitants, many of whom are unaware of its ancient past. It will also be a focal point for tourists and visitors who will now be encouraged to put Caistor on their list of 'must see' places when they visit the Lincolnshire Wolds and the surrounding area.
The Centre now offers a much needed tourist destination through its heritage collection and will offer training / learning opportunities in the exhibition and library space. The Centre will be kept alive and interesting through its changing exhibitions and heritage displays.
The project is being filmed by the BBC and a one hour documentary program will be shown on BBC1 prime time TV during the summer of 2011.
